Born from a heart-to-heart with our top trad climbing athletes BD Hazel Findlay, Carlo Traversi, Sam Elias and Babsi Zangerl, the Camalot Z4 Offset is the realization of a dream: to have a single stem cam that stays rigid in the hand, but flexes once positioned. Here is the patent-pending RigidFlex stem. Thanks to independent floating trigger wires, the Camalot Z4 Offset cams do not bend when tensioned and retracted, but once positioned allow the stem to move, ensuring a positioning that stays put and does not walk when pulled directionally. The stem on the larger sizes also uses a double braided cable construction that provides uniform flex in all directions, while single cable construction is implemented on the smaller sizes to prevent deformation when the trigger is pulled hard and to reduce the profile of the trigger. Offset dimensions also ensure that correct positioning is at hand for any pin scars, uneven placements, and uneven cracks, far exceeding the world's perfect slots. Featuring a head width similar to our old Camalot C3 design, but with 4 sandblasted lobes for better holding power, the Z4s are not only an upgrade, but also come in smaller sizes, starting at #0, our smallest cam ever made, and ranging up to .75, allowing you to dial up the rack, whether you're trying to hit the points in the desert, or go light and fast in the Bugs.
